Marjetica
Potrc (Slovenia)
Marjetica Potrc is an internationally exhibited Slovenian artist/architect whose work addresses the shifting terrain of the contemporary city and how its inhabitants adjust to its continual reinvention. Potrc has participated in the Venice Biennale in 1993, in the Sao Paulo Biennale in 1996 and Manifesta 3 in 2000. She received the Hugo Boss Prize from the Guggenheim. Her recent online project brings together diverse communities from developed and developing nations that share the active participation of individuals in designing and building their architecture and infrastructure systems. These communities are challenging the ways we think about city planning, local self-sufficiency, alternative energy sources, and architectural aesthetics. |
