Eilean Hooper-Greenhill (US)


 

Eilean Hooper-Greenhill has degrees in Fine Arts (University of Reading), Art Education and Sociology of Education (Institute of Education University of London) and has taught at a number of London art museums, including the Tate Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. Director of Research of the Department of Museum Studies of the University of Leicester and of the Research Centre for Museums and Galleries. Publications include Museums and the Shaping of Knowledge (Routledge, 1992), Museum: Media: Message (Routledge, 1995), The Educational Role of the Museum (Routledge, 1999), Museums and the Interpretation of Visual Culture (Routledge, 2000). Currently working, with Suzanne MacLeod, on completing a book entitled Understanding Museums: key debates and challenges.
