Sfear is one of the founding members of the Collusion what-hat hacker group in Austin, Texas (4n7i). He worked with Stefan Wray to found the Austin Indymedia chapter and was the moderator of the 2002 SPI (Subliminal Propaganda Institute) Roundtable on the Nature of
Art in 2025. He is suspected of being German, however these claims have never been substantiated.
