Pode Bal consists of five people, born in the former communist Czechoslovakia, all presently living in Prague, Czech Republic. Pode Bal began its activity in February 1998, with its first and localy controversial exhibition in the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Pode Bal's last large scale project, GEN - Gallery of Established Nomenclature, sparked a large media wave of scandal and helped to uncover the ever present totalitarian trends in Czech society: as a direct result, the gallery that showed GEN has lost all of its sponsors.
