Natalie Bookchin (US)


  Natalie Bookchin is an artist who works with the net, computer games and other unpopular art forms. She lives in Los Angeles and is a member of the faculty at CalArts. Her new project in development is Man-ALife, an on-line virtual human pet game and a PR campaign/art project called BioTaylorism. In 1999-2000 she organized, an eight month series of lectures and workshops at CalArts, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and Laboratorio Cinematek in Tijuana, Mexico. She has most recently been organizing "Street Action on the Superhighway" a project about the spaces between art and activism, and between the streets and the net, so far in LA, Basel and Barcelona. She has been part of the collective RTMark and has collaborated on projects with Alexei Shulgin, Heath Bunting, Jin Lee and Lev Manovich.
