JOANNE RICHARDSON |
Joanne Richardson is a media theorist, video artist and the director of D Media, a media art organization in Romania. She completed an M.A. in Philosophy at NYU, and postgraduate studies in Literature (theory), and in Film & Video at Duke University. She is the editor of Subsol, a webzine on media art and activism, and of two books on digital culture. She has written essays on the history of the avant-gardes, activist art, experimental film and video, net.radio, tactical media, free software, the myth of authorship and copyleft. Her videos reflect an ongoing interest in globalization, nationalism and post-communism, and manifest a critical perspective toward the status of documents, history, and memory.
